October 2nd, 2022 | San Francisco In-Person Women for Malia Reception

  • Malia Cohen for California State Controller
  • Special Guest Jodi Hicks, President & CEO of Planned Parenthood of California

Less than 2% of all statewide elected executive officials in the U.S. are Black women. Malia Cohen is poised to be the first African American to serve as California’s State Controller.

When Senator Cortez Masto was elected in 2016, she became Nevada’s first female Senator and the first Latina elected to the U.S. Senate in the nation. She is one of only three women of color in the Senate currently. Her seat is critical for a Democratic majority in the Senate.

Chief Justice Beasley is running for an open U.S. Senate seat in North Carolina. This race is incredibly close and is one of the best chances for Democrats to flip a seat. There are currently zero Black women in the Senate, and Chief Justice Beasley is poised to change that.
